When we explore the healing power of the plant kingdom with hands-on wild crafted herbalism we gain the power of true food and medicine security within a 5,000-year-old tradition.  So many of our dooryard plants; dandelion, chickweed, plantain, lambs quarters - not to mention our powerhouse healers such as wormwood, yarrow and nettle - are potent medicines and delicious foods.  The wild edibles and medicines plants at your doorstep provide exceptional nutritional, often many times greater than even organic foods. Therefore, a little goes a long way. Just add them to the soups , stir fries and salads you are already making.

Our arctic plants are particularly potent medicinally due to living under a harsher climate. They are robust and vital.   When you learn to identify local edible and medicinal plants, understand their therapeutic properties, and create tinctures, oils, and salves as herbal remedies you gain a local pharmacy with excellent therapeutic value, little of the cost and substantially reduced risks compared with pharmaceuticals. Just as important, you have gained a landscape full of green friends.
