| About the course | Sexuality resides in the same territory as pleasure and emotion in the second chakra. Arising from the same developmental milieu, it is more than the drive to procreate. It is an expression of divine essence. Well-developed sexual expression provides fertile ground for creativity, nourishing the entire physical, emotional and mental wellbeing of the person. It is at the very core of the self and very powerful medicine. In this class we explore the forces awakening in sexual development and the masculine and feminine principles through reflection on our own experiences. We'll track the sovereignty of women from the earliest Pre-Celtic egalitarian matriarchal cultures to the belief in the sinful nature of women, matter and the earth in patriarchal Judeo-Christian cultures. As woman lost power and value, so did the earth. This shift has been a profound loss for both men and women for without the equalibrium provided by the feminine spiritual principle, the masculine can become dangerously out of balance. we willbear witness to the ways that this discord has been felt in our lives. In the gentlest of ways we will invite healing of those wounds through Celtic spiritual practices that embrace the sacred feminine and the Circle of Life in its Pagan and Christian forms. We will continue to develop the ACP core practices of spiritual practice, meditation, guided visualizations, movement and community building through shared personal inquiry and ceremony. | |
